The Roses Creative Awards are given annually for the most notable achievements in advertising, marketing and design. Initially two distinct awards were given for excellence in design and advertising, but recently those awards have been merged.

This time the prize was won by a short promo-clip “Max and the Late Night IT Security Battle”, by Kaspersky Lab. The film below depicts a sysadmin fighting a horde of greedy malware that made a night raid on all the systems in his charge. The “troops” of Kaspersky Endpoint Security help to repel the invasion and send the enemy fleeing.

Information security, especially corporate security, is undoubtedly important. But solving even most serious problems does not imply permanently serious looks. Some fun won’t hurt, in a way of talking simple about the complex.

Two films were already created about sysadmin Max and his adventures, the second one called
“Mysterious Case of Stolen Data”:

The animators’ efforts were obviously not vain. The film about a night battle was acclaimed by critics and won the symbol of appreciation.
